If one of the guesses is correct in both color and placement, they'll place a red peg in a "code peg" hole. A white peg indicates a correct color, but wrong placement. Code breakers won't know which of their guesses is correct, or even half-correct. It'll take concentration, mental fortitude, and a lucky guess or two to break the code.
